Before registering for the retreat, every couple is invited to schedule a Discovery Session - a 75-minute video consultation with the retreat facilitator. This session is a relaxed, no-pressure opportunity to explore whether the Caribbean Couples Retreat is the right fit for you.
During the session, you’ll:
Share a bit about your relationship, goals, and current challenges
Learn more about the retreat structure and what to expect
Ask any questions you may have about the group format
Receive professional insights on whether the retreat - or a private option - best suits your needs
It’s also a chance for the facilitator to get to know you and ensure the retreat experience will be beneficial and supportive for your unique situation. There’s no commitment required - just an open conversation to see if this journey is right for both of you.
The Caribbean Couples Retreat begins with a warm and welcoming Sunday afternoon reception, followed by five days of transformative relationship work in a serene tropical setting.
🕓 Sunday Welcome Reception (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Join us at the villa for a relaxed welcome gathering where you’ll meet the retreat facilitator and connect with the other participating couples. Enjoy light refreshments, take in the beautiful surroundings, and ease into the experience in a friendly, low-pressure atmosphere.
🗓 Monday–Friday: Daily Retreat Schedule
🌅 Morning Sessions (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Engage in guided couple's exercises, discussions about each couple's relationship challenges, problem solving strategies, and practical communication-building activities. Each session is designed to help you deepen understanding, improve problem solving skills, focus on relationship strengths and positive emotions, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional connection.
🍽️ Lunch (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM)
A light lunch will be served at the villa. Food will be provided by local restaurants.
🌤 Afternoon Sessions (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Focus on topics such as intimacy, conflict resolution, and long-term relationship sustainability. Sessions include focused discussions on each couple's relationship issues, group discussions to gain insight from the experience of others, and opportunities for one-on-one coaching with the facilitator.
🌙 Evenings: Free Time
Evenings are yours to relax and enjoy the island. Take a sunset walk on the beach, enjoy a romantic dinner, or simply unwind together and reflect on the day’s insights in the comfort of your accommodation.
The Relationship Studio operates the Caribbean Couples Retreat under strict Privacy and Confidentiality Policy. Any information you disclose about yourself or your your relationship stays between the retreat coordinator and the attending couples.
Each attendee has to sign the Confidentiality Policy and abide by its stipulations.
At the Caribbean Couples Retreat we are focusing on your relationship which is a highly personal issue for all participants. We are aiming to create a safe, compassionate and supportive environment where you feel comfortable to speak about issues and challenges.
Abusive behavior of any form is not tolerated at the retreat.
If you demonstrate abusive behavior, use abusive language towards you partner or other participants, arrive at the session under the influence of alcohol or drugs you will be dismissed from the rest of the retreat. No refund will be issued to the participant dismissed because of violating the personal conduct policy.
Each participant has to agree to and sign our Personal Conduct Policy.
What is included?
A welcome reception with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be held at the villa Sunday afternoon so you can meet Dr. Szeles and the other couples in your group.
30 hours of Retreat sessions Monday to Friday.
Snacks during the morning and afternoon sessions and a light lunch provided at the villa.
Local transportation from and to your accommodation in Best Bay is included in the price.
What is not Included?
If you stay in West End or further away, you will need to arrange for your own transportation.
Travel to Roatan, accommodation, meals, and transportation from/to the airport are not included in the Retreat price and are the participants’ responsibility.
We can assist with taxi reservation at the Roatan International Airport for $30 per couple each way.
If after the discussion with the retreat facilitator at the Discovery Session you are ready to book a retreat you will inform us of your preferred retreat dates.
We will reserve your spot and will send you a payment request. The link will take you to our booking page. You will have 3 days to book your spot for the particular retreat weak. If you do not book within 3 days your reservation will be cancelled and released for other interested couples.
The Caribbean Couples Retreat is held in a private villa in West Bay on the island of Roatan.
Depending on the number of couples participating we may rent either a more intimate or a more spacious villa for the retreat.
Because all of the available villas are located in one of the West Bay communities: West Bay, Lighthouse Estates, Turtles Crossing and Turrets we recommend that you book your accommodation in one of the West Bay or West End resorts, hotels or vacation rentals.
If you stay in West Bay the villa in all likelihood is just a short stroll away from your accommodation.
However, we provide free transportation between the villa and your accommodation if you stay in the West Bay area.
If you stay in the village of West End the villa is a 10 minutes taxi drive away. Taxis are readily available in West End and the ride typically cost $20 for a couple. Please ask and agree on the price before you get into the taxi.
Water taxis are running between West End and West Bay from 7 am until 6 pm. The ride takes about 10 minutes one way. Ask to be dropped off at the Infinity Bay Resort dock. From there it is another 10-15 min walk to the villa or call us to pick you up at the Infinity Bay Resort parking lot to take you to the villa. Water taxis are $20 for 4 passengers or $5 each. Expect to pay $10 each if only two of you are riding. We do not recommend taking water taxi after sunset. Sunset is at 5:30 PM in January and 6:20 PM in August.
